Cruise the ICW

Join Captains Derrek and Stephanie as they cruise the Intracoastal Waterway from Miami to Oriental, North Carolina!

A great way to gain offshore experience and navigational skills:
The Intracoatal Waterway (ICW) is a 3,000 mile inland waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico Coasts of the US. Some inlets are natural rivers, bays and sounds, while a few are artificial canals. We practice sailing, navigating, and anchoring along the ICW and during our trip we will sail offshore for at least one night (24 – 48 hours). We emphasize preparation, teamwork, seamanship and safety to provide individuals with the skills necessary to skipper a vessel themselves in almost any situation they may encounter in inland waterways and bays. During the course you will practice navigating at night, forecasting weather, trip plan, plan time / resource management and sail round the clock keeping rotating watches during our offshore passages.

A Trip of a lifetime:
Our trips are flexible and are priced as 7 day charters but can last anywhere from one to two weeks depending on weather and sea conditions. This way we can explore unique towns, dine at local waterfront cafes, work on necessary skills to achieve higher level ASA courses (ASA 105 & 106) or to wait for the perfect weather window if needed for our offshore portions of the trip. During our trips you will not only learn how to cruise but will have opportunities go ashore and to explore unique towns from a cruisers aspect.
